Former Greats and not so greats from Meths history

Colin De Grandhomme(batting). Last year's Baildon overseas was our very own Evening League overseas. Colin was a top lad aged 19 came over from Zimbabwe. We took him under our collective wing, corrupted him and enjoyed some good times. Col had a great season for us featuring in the top league averages with bat and ball and contributing greatly to a fun and successful year. He went to play in New Zealand at the end of our season and recently broke into the Auckland 1st XI.

Mark Sugden. Mark represented Meths at all levels. He played and captained in the U17s, played Evening League and for all 3 teams in Senior cricket. A good strokeplayer Mark was an energetic runner between the wickets, a fine close fielder and was even known to throw down an odd medium pacer now and then. Mark's cricket was disrupted by university and now by his work which has taken him to Holland. His runs are missed but younger brother Neil is set to represent the family in the Evening League this year.

Stephen Foster. Steve played in our junior U17 team for a couple of seasons. He was a very fine all-rounder - very useful with bat, ball and in the field. His opportunities to play were hampered ny his other sporting interests most notably badminton, at which he has represented his country in double competition. Steven, now married, lives in Milton Keynes where he coaches badminton but is still a keen cricket fan.

John Pegington. Peg again played in our U17 team and has appeared in our Evening League side. Not blessed with any notable cricketing ability John was always a very enthusiastic member of the side. Energetic in the field and decent under a high ball - provided he knew where the boundary rope was - he was also capable of an agricultural shot or two. Recently engaged Peg now lives in Manchester.
Andrew Radosovic. Dozza played in junior cricket and then progressed on to senior cricket on a Saturday. He had much promise, particularly with the ball but he chose to devote his time to football instead. Dozza still enjoys his cricket though and we are constantly trying to tempt him out of retirement.
